For the lovers & for the archives.

I’m Raquel, a photographer based in Lisbon, Portugal, working across weddings, people, places and the stories that connect them.

I see weddings as living archives — a collection of memories and fleeting details that made the day yours. Not just what happened, but how it felt to be there.

I work across film and digital, with film at the heart of my practice. Shooting analogue taught me to slow down, look more closely and wait for the frame to feel right. It made me more attentive to small gestures, beautiful light and the things that might otherwise go unnoticed. I bring that same instinct to digital, looking for fewer, stronger images rather than trying to capture everything.

My work sits somewhere between documentary and editorial. I’m drawn to colour, movement, thoughtful composition, beautiful light and the unexpected. I want the photographs to feel joyful and alive, intimate and romantic, while remaining natural, unforced and true to the people in them.
